The Retreat is focused around our organised activities to ensure you feel inspired and creative and come away for the Retreat with some amazing work and some fantastic memories to continue your equine art journey.
We have organised your stay with inspiration being of up most importance, therefore the beginning of your week is designed to find and feed you inspiration, the latter part of the week will allow you time and space to complete your compositions.
There are 6 carefully selected locations that horses are taken to daily which provide excellent photographic or sketch opportunities throughout the week.
Â Inspirational LocationsÂ -Â The 6 locations have been select for their idyllic scenery and immediate beauty, these unique locations offer the opportunity to get up and close with the horse to photograph and sketch out composition ideas under the resident artists guidance.
Sketch SessionsÂ Fast paced sessions with the Resident Artist concentrating on techniques in oil and acrylic. Â These are fantastic opportunities help inspire you and assist in your compositions throughout the holiday.
Cowboy ClinicÂ -Â You will watch the Cowboys working with their horses in the dust and dirt, breaking in, roping and wrangling with them. Â This is a unique opportunity to capture fast paced movement and emotion close up.

Horse Drive – Horses and Cattle will be driven past you, Â This is a unique opportunity to observe the horses and cowboys working in unison. Â It is a fantastic opportunity to capture the motion and speed of the horses and cattle.
Glass Mountains -Â The Glass Mountains are 20 miles to the west of the Retreat, the views are incredible and you can use this time to photograph, paint or sketch the landscape or just relax and take the beauty at sunset.
Rodeo – If available during your stay we willÂ take you to a Rodeo. Â Rodeos are one of the most varied sports in the history of the world, they provide fantastic entertainmentÂ encompassing a number of different events that allow cowboys, and cowgirls, to compete against furious bulls and charging horses, roping and wrangling to make a winning run and bring home the big bucks! They are perfect for capturing fast paced photographic images, and provide a range of opportunities to see horse and rider in all their paces and emotions.
